MONORAIL CRANES

Improve Your Workflow with Monorail Cranes

When you’re repeatedly lifting heavy materials across the same path, having a monorail crane is a valuable asset. Available in ceiling-mounted and freestanding options, you’ll have the flexibility to design a solution that makes the most sense for your applications and facility.

For more than 80 years, companies of all sizes have trusted RMH Systems to help them work more safely and efficiently. Partnering with our overhead crane experts is just as efficient as the monorail crane system we’ll create for you.

Your project is tailored to your specific needs and budget, and handled by our experienced in-house team of sales, engineering and aftermarket service staff. We’re here to help you identify the right monorail overhead crane to help you work smarter, safer and grow your business, regardless of the load, location or other lifting challenges you face.

What Is a Monorail Crane?

Like a conveyor system, a monorail overhead crane lifts, lowers or suspends materials across a fixed path. It relies on a track system and can be either manual or with a motorized travel hoist.

This type of crane is available as an underhung monorail crane, which uses building support to maximize floor space, or as a freestanding monorail crane, which doesn’t require building support.

Monorail cranes pair well with workstation cranes, because they allow you to telescope beyond your mounting point and pull in materials to a specific location. Great for confined or restricted areas, monorails efficiently transfer materials along a line from one point to another. This type of industrial crane is an excellent solution for improving safety for repetitive production tasks in areas that are dangerous or difficult to reach.

Our engineers recommend using a monorail crane when:

  • You need a lifting solution, but your facility can’t accommodate a bridge crane.
  • You don’t need a lifting solution that requires lateral motion.
  • You need a lifting solution that pulls materials into workstations.
  • You’re lifting items that weigh less than 5 tons.

Three Benefits of Monorail Cranes

Lifting-related injuries are a costly problem for North American companies. Using an overhead crane may help you reduce worker compensation claims, which FMP Global says have an average compensation of $24,000. Monorail cranes help keep your employees safe while protecting your bottom line.

On-floor material moving devices like forklifts are inefficient and take up a lot of valuable space in your facility. With an overhead crane, you’ll be able to make the most of your facility.

Monorail cranes help manufacturing facilities increase the speed and efficiency of their material handling processes. This boosts outputs while reducing costs and decreasing the chance of production delays.
